Surfboard advice please. Longboard & Shortboard, fin set-up, and trade?
Here's my scoop. I recently took up surfing about 3 months ago, i learned on a huge 10 foot banana foam board. About 2 weeks ago i finally got a real longboard 9ft, its an older board but in great condition. Has O'Fish'L fin set up, yesterday morning one of my side fins fell off. Since its my first board and i'm most likely gonna beat it up anyways, is it alright just to ride with the Center Fin or just stick with 3?
Now for my other question. I'm trading an xbox 360 for a surfboard. The board is 6'9 and has glassed in tri-fins. Is that a good deal? The board looks like its almost brand new.
And finally, should i chance riding a shortboard this quickly or just stick to longboarding for a while? I'm still learning to pop up properly, catching the wave in the right spot, and turning left on the longboard.
Thank you,
If the middle fin is bigger then the other two it will be fine if not invest the 20 bucks and get a third fin it will help your turning . the trade is NOT worth it. the short board if it looks almost new could go for like 500-600 bucks not the 300 the 360 goes for. And you can try the short board, depending on how small it is and how big you are depends if its going to go well or not. Worst thing that could happen is you fall a lot and learn your not ready for it.
