Top Tips For Getting The Xmas Shopping Done
Wow, that came around fast it's time already to make a start on the Christmas shopping. If you make a start nice and early, well in November, you'll find that by December you're all wrapped and ready to go. This time of year is also known for it's crumby weather too not to mention very busy shops. If you are thinking about braving the crowds here's a few simple tips to make it a little easier.
If you're after something specialist for a sport or hobby go to a store that specialises in it. If you have a surfing enthusiast to buy for you need to fond somewhere that specialises in surfboards as this means they'll be helpful staff who can give you helpful guidance which you might not get in a standard sports shop. Spending ages looking round when you don't know what you're really looking for is just a waste of time.
There's no pressure to get all your gifts sorted in one day. You still have a few weeks yet so remember there's no point getting stressed just yet. If you have one, take your MP3 player with you and have something soothing to listen to. Nothing is guaranteed to push you over the edge quicker than having to listen to the same Christmas carol over and over again. And those screaming kids are not what you want when you trying to find some slippers For the other half's mother.
Another helpful trick is to keep a good stash of stocking fillers. Things like Hoddies for teenagers and bath salts for aunts and friends always come in handy. Next time your supermarket is has nice boxes of chocolates on special offer buy a few to hide in the back of the cupboard. This year you won't be caught out when you get that unexpected gift from the person you forgot about.
Have something to look forward to when you get home. Treat yourself to a nice long bubble bath and a glass of wine or an hour alone with your favourite book. The chances are you're going to have had a busy day so put your feet up and congratulate yourself on a job well started.
How do I divide an estate of furniture when one wants one piece of furniture and the others want to sell all?
I am executor of my dad's will. Property to be divided equally between 3. All he had was furniture. Estate auction and divide the money was my plan. Now, my sister wants one piece of furniture. Do I get that one piece appraised, sell the rest? What if the rest of the furniture sells for less than that one piece appraised for?
Just a thought here. What you could do is go and put it all up for auction. Make it where the person that wishes to have the one piece of furniture be the one allowed to bid on that particular piece and no other family member or those receiving the inheritance. What this person pays for the item go into the grand total which is to be split between all individuals involved -- including the one that bid on the item. The person that got the piece of furniture is still allowed their 1/3 of the estate -- it's as if that person was any other bidder. The person that receives that furniture does get a third of the money, but 2/3 of what they paid for the furniture goes to the inheritors.
I’m Already Bored With The iPad 3 (crunchgear?)
The iPad 3 is coming next month. Or so says the endless rumors. These rumors
also state the next iPad will have higher resolution screen and high-speed
data connection. But I couldn't care less. The iPad 3, if that's really its
name, sounds like a stop-gap upgrade to me. You see, I'm perfectly happy with
my iPad 2. Save the addition of an SD card slot, there isn't a single feature
I can imagine that will make me trade up to Apple's new hotness. I guess the
iPad 3 sounds great, but it also sounds boring. That's not saying Apple won't
sell a zillion iPad 3s. It will. But it's going to take more than a spec bump
for me (and likely many others) to upgrade from the iPad 2.
