what is a fuel pump nib?
so i went on ebay to buy a fuel pump for my 2002 nissant sentra GXE and found this fuel pump nib which was very cheap. I bought it without thinking. now that i took my fuel pump out i cant figure a way to use the motor and the filter that came with it with the pump. what i wanted to do was open the pump and see if i could change the filter and the pump on the old one and put it back. but i thought i ask here first before i open the product from its wrap so i can return it if it is not working for me. thanks
So you have this big white thing with springs and fuel level sending unit in you hand. There are three parts to that assembly and it is going to take at least 4 small flat bladed screwdrivers to push into the plastic parts to release the pieces fuel pump is that motor piece and then there is several black rubber parts on each end of the pump and one dime sized rubber disk that gos under the fuel pump one way valve.If your careful you might be able to take it apart and reassemble with out buying a service manual. AUTO-ZONE and other parts stores may be able to print out details of the pump assembly. Good Luck
