For me it's the circle hook that allows you to quickly engage the reel and tighten the line firmly and you are set. I was using the wrong kind of hook and I lost too many fish trying to figure out when to yank back and set the hook. The fishing pole was left unattended the line was taking off and I reeled it in and noticed a circle hook was attached.

The Owner Circle Hook was my personal choice and I have tried every hook imaginable.

What Titanium alloy do i use?

I need to make this project for science, i need titanium that i don't melt, i want titanium alloy where i hammer it into place? what kind of titanium alloy sheets do i need?

I worked in the titanium industry; the titanium you need if you are going to "hammer it into place" is Commercially Pure (CP) titanium.

Almost all the alloyed titanium's are alloyed to make them stronger.
6Al4V titanium is very resistant to cold hammering - it gets soft above 1600°F. I'd say stick with pure titanium.

The two places titanium is outstanding is in corrosion resistance and at elevated temperatures between 500°F and 1000°F (jet engine compressors). Otherwise, typically people choose a less expensive material. Titanium isn't that expensive (approx. twice the price of stainless steel). Thinner sheets are more expensive than thicker sheets. Below about 0.060 inch thickness, titanium is "chem-milled" to make the sheet thinner. This makes the cost of the sheet even more expensive.

If you want to purchase some "remnants", contact some of the titanium suppliers around the country, and ask them if they have some scrap leftovers they would sell you. Titanium is mostly manufactured in Oregon and Ohio, and their customers are typically aerospace and marine.

Besides being cool - do you really need titanium? Wouldn't stainless work?
